John Cornock (c1822-1862)
John was born in Wotton-under-edge, Gloucestershire, England in about 1822. His father is recorded on John’s Marriage Certificate as William Cornock, Cloth Dyer. From the same source his mother was Elizabeth Cornock, maiden name unknown.
He married Mary Toye (c1832-1902) on 3 Aug 1853 at St James Cathedral C of E, Melbourne (MC 200 Transcript). At the time this church was situated on the north-west corner of William St and Little Collins St in the city of Melbourne, but was subsequently relocated to the north-west corner of King St and Batman St, West Melbourne where it still stands. For further details visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_James_Old_Cathedral .
At the time of their marriage John was 31 and living in Bendigo and worked as a sawyer.
Like his daughter Rebecca and her daughter Mary Elizabeth, John died of phthisis (tuberculosis). His death occurred at Rutherglen, Victoria on 10 Jan 1862 (DC 62/3163) (DC Transcript), and he was buried at Carlyle Cemetery near Wahgunyah. He was 40 years old. His Death Certificate is lacking in detail, and what is shown is sometimes erroneous. The cemetery in which his grave is located is now absorbed within a farming property with no indication that it exists, even though it is still a gazetted cemetery.

Rebecca Cornock (1860-1888)
Rebecca was born at Indigo, Victoria on 9 May 1860 (BC 60/22517 Transcript), the 3rd daughter and 4th child of John Cornock (c1822-1862) and Mary Toye (c1832-1902).
She married Benjamin Parker Jr (1854-1909) at St Paul’s Church of England, Chiltern on 19 November 1883 (MC 83/5139 Transcript), and they had one child, Mary Elizabeth Parker (1884-1912).
Rebecca contracted phthisis (tuberculosis) in early 1888 and died on 9 Aug 1888 at Chiltern West (DC 88/8923 Transcript), and was buried at Chiltern New Cemetery on 12 August.
By coincidence, Rebecca died at the same age of the same disease and with only one child as her daughter Mary.
